From hyping Tidal to playing in obscure states to lighting vinyl on fire, Jack White has been doing a good job of keeping his name in the news lately.
But reviving the White Stripes and getting back onstage with Meg?
On her new surprise album "Lemonade," R&B diva Beyonce joined forces with rock champion Jack White on a tune called "Don't Hurt Yourself."Written and produced by Knowles and White, the track clocks in at just under 4 minutes, featuring a mid-tempo stompin' groove.
Other special guests on the record include James Blake, Kendrick Lamar, and The Weeknd.
At the moment, the song can be streamed via You Tube below.
And sure, Jack White plays plenty of their material when he tours as a solo act, but he also hinted we might not be seeing much of that anymore, either."Only seated theaters for acoustic shows for the rest of my days," he wrote."It's hard when the people who organize festivals basically control my life …I have to book shows around their offer that I can't refuse …
JACK WHITE TO SERVE ON MEGAN BARRY’S NEW GENDER EQUITY COUNCIL “I believe all human beings in this planet and in this society we live in deserve to be treated the same,” he said.“They deserve to be treated the same in their social lives and in their financial and business careers as well.” White, said it is “embarrassing” that a gender wage gap still exists.
White shut down the idea in a May 24 Q&A with subscribers to his Third Man Records Vault club, to a member with the user name Blue Orchid, no less.
He said pay should not be dictated by gender, or whether an individual is transgender or gender neutral.“In my life in the arts, I’ve always considered it unfair when, for example, while producing a record, that a drummer would be less than a singer simply because that singer had an agent or representative,” he said.“I think they should be paid the same.“ “Now wouldn’t it be just as ridiculous to pay two fiddle players a different wage because one of them is male and one of them is female?
When first prodded about Meg, Jack asserted the former White Stripes drummer "doesn't answer her phone." Then Blue Orchid chimed in, "That is sad we miss Meg.
If she did answer the phone would you consider playing with her again?
